GROWTH OPPORTUNITY   A recent report has estimated that there is a potential need for more than 33 MSF of distribution center space to support JAXPORT growth. RACEC DESIGNATION   Baker County is one of 14 North Central Florida counties designated as a Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern (RACEC) which qualifies it for the following:

• Rural job tax credit program
• Certain requirement waivers including a waiver of DRI requirements which usually begin at 320 acres. For RACEC counties, the limit is increased 2.5 times, bringing the threshold to 800 acres. A single development of up to 800 acres is therefore below the DRI threshold.
